The Senior Leak Detection Specialist is responsible for leading all assigned leak detection program design, implementation, and maintenance. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead leak detection system support and maintenance. Includes leak detection application configuration, analysis, and tuning of alarm parameters. In addition, duties will also include screen development, database updates, verification of data integrity, and system documentation.
  • Key role in the implementation, integration, operation and security of leak detection systems.
  • Responsible for general leak detection system administration responsibilities which include system backups, network documentation, database archiving, user account and account policy creation.
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and keep leak detection systems running at optimum level, maximizing their uptime.
  • Maintain and create as needed scripts to perform special functions or automated reports.
  • Proactive role to interface with Control Center personnel and supporting team in supporting and enhancing systems.
  • Must learn all facets of system and perform work in an independent manner as well as in a team environment as the job requires.
  • Provide written and verbal project status reports of activities and progress on various tasks.
  • 24x7 support of control center for emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • A Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a SCADA or Process Control environment performing administration or configurations of systems is required.
  • Experience working with SCADA or Process Control applications such as HMI, TopTech, Telvent DNA, Wonderware is preferred.
  • Ability to support real-time, high performance, mission-critical applications used in a 24x7 pipeline operations control center is required.
  • Experience working in an instrumentation or liquids measurement environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations and procedures, computer systems hardware, network and communications configuration, personal computer applications, process control systems, applications and operation of computer support facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the work in a small team environment is required.
  • Ability to communicate well and quickly troubleshoot problems is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to facilities is required.
