Description

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for planning, execution and administration of all aspects of Enterprise's Strategic Sourcing Process in assigned commodity areas (or categories). The Process requires that the Specialist build an understanding of Enterprise's specifications and the marketplace for the commodities, the primary cost drivers and impacts on key internal stakeholders. Then build and implement a sourcing strategy that optimizes the total cost of ownership. Execution of the sourcing strategy will include the development of supplier relationship strategies, conducting fact-based negotiations and ensuring that contracts are effectively written and approved. In summary, the Sourcing Specialist performs much of the value-added work that is integral to fulfilling Strategic Sourcing's mission of leveraging targeted spend across Enterprise's locations and creating knowledge and value through the supplier-Enterprise interface. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Establish agreements for materials, services and equipment at the lowest total cost while meeting or exceeding Enterprise's quality and specification requirements.
  • Conduct spend category analysis, market analysis, and supplier analysis, and benchmarking/cost modeling.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to target commodity areas for future sourcing projects.
  • Identify and report appropriate trend analyses and highlight areas of opportunity.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Understand the needs and requirements of internal clients and work to ensure that these needs are met within the parameters of the Strategic Sourcing process and in line with corporate objectives.
  • Develop communications and analyses for inclusion in executive level presentations.
  • Assist in contract reviews, business issue definition, and risk and opportunity identification.
  • Assist in issue resolution with suppliers and internal clients.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; preference for Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or Sourcing degrees.
  • 3-5 years experience in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, preferably in the energy industry or related industries (such as process, chemicals, etc.).
  • Demonstrated client service experience, especially in meeting the needs and expectations of customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of supplier or contractor management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive with solutions, persistent.
  • Effective negotiator.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, with a preference for some prior leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology with emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience working with Oracle Financial and purchase order management software is preferred.
